How long is a day of touring?

Bespoke ireland Tours set out our itineraries with your safety and comfort in mind. We are committed to offering you the best possible experience in the time frame allowed.

Private Day Tours – We offer two types of Day Tour. Our standard 8 hour day tour is for the Dublin and surrounding region and our “extended day tours” cover approximately 12 hours.

Multi Day Tours – The days on our multi-day escorted tours are usually 7-8 hours and based on a recommended 9:00am to 5:00pm schedule. We find that many guests do not want to travel so much and therefore days can vary considerably depending on the variety of activities you would like each day.

Driving Times – We operate a fleet of luxury touring vehicles with your safety and comfort our priority. Driving times in Ireland are strictly governed by the Road Safety Authority and An Garda Siochana (Irish Police).

We aim to ensure that you enjoy your time in our vehicles with your knowledgeable chauffeur guide whilst enjoying frequent stops along the route. As a general rule we design your tour with points of interest no maximising your day rather than time in transit.

What are the tipping / gratuities guidelines for Ireland?

We are regularly asked about tipping guidelines in Ireland. People will usually tip based on the quality of service they receive. A general guideline for top quality service would be 10-15% Meals – We aim to offer you a selection of locally owned cafes/restaurants and bars for you to enjoy.

We pride ourselves on supporting local business which employs local people. We feel this gives you a better feel for the area and we are all helping local rural economies and communities to survive.

The food standard has greatly increased in Ireland over the last number of years and we are happy to advise you of locally owned options around the country. 10 to 15% is a good guideline.

Drinks – Bar & Lounge staff greatly appreciate gratuity. However, this is based on the level of service you received and the length of time at a venue. 10% is welcome gratuity. Hotel Staff – A tip for porters & chambermaids is always appreciated but again, this depends on quality of service.

Chauffeur Guides – We often get asked about tipping guidelines for your chauffeur guide. Driver guide gratuity is never expected but always appreciated. Our recommendations is between 10 to 25% per day. More or less is entirely at your own discretion and based on your experience.

What should we wear when visiting Ireland?

Every Irish person will invariably bring the weather into conversation. We know that no one expects a sun tan from their time in Ireland. Its often said that you will experience all four seasons in one day here. Our climate is mild but rarely if ever extreme.

We have “forty shades of green’ thanks to differing changes we regularly experience. We recommend that you should travel with a rain coat and good waterproof walking shoes are ideal for when you visit Ireland.

You don’t require hiking boots but merely everyday waterproof shoes are ideal for your touring days.

Casual dress and smart causal for evenings is ideal. Formal dining wear is only required in certain high end restaurants and 5 star hotels.
